When I first started using bBlog, oh these many years ago, it was a promising young system in active development that I thought would be fun to help on. But that was the same time that I started grad school, and bBlog rapidly stagnated after that. For a while now, the only reason I've kept using it is because I wasn't willing to abandon yet another archive and start over with yet another empty system, virtually no bBlog -> other system conversions were found on Google, and there was always something more pressing to do that translate one MySQL database into another.

So, last week, while home sick from work, I installed Drupal, in part to test it out for possible use on other sites, and then hacked up a script to suck posts out of the bBlog database and into the Drupal database. It's as bad as one would expect out of a feverishly short attention span, But It Worked, Darnit. And so, in the interest of helping anybody else still using this defunct system[1], I offer it here for free use / improvement.

[1] I note that bBlog's development has been adopted recently by a new dev team, and is going to be rereleased as Loquacity. But, still, I've moved on; my future needs on other projects will more likely be Drupal-appropriate than bBlog-appropriate.
